Right across the way from venerable Faneuil Hall is the Faneuil Hall Marketplace, probably Boston’s most popular shopping and entertainment destination. Also known as Quincy Market, this area has over 100 specialty shops, vending carts, and restaurants located in and around the market’s three separate buildings. You wouldn’t know it from the buzz of activity that fills this area now, but there was a time back in the 1970s when the entire market was looking at possible demolition. Luckily cooler heads prevailed. and the redevelopment here at Quincy Market has made the area a real showpiece for the entire city.
