Though Grauman's Chinese Theatre is perhaps Hollywood Boulevard's biggest draw, the massive Hollywood and Highland complex is not far behind. It's home to the Kodak Theatre, which hosts Hollywood’s biggest night of stars, where a little fellow named Oscar is the most popular guy in town. In addition to the Kodak, the there are Movie Theaters, Restaurants, Bowling, you name it. It's glitzy, a little garish, and a lot of fun.

If your tastes are a bit, shall we say, eclectic, then maybe Melrose Avenue is just your speed. On this hip little thoroughfare, where the trendy go to get trendier at the many small shops that line both sides of street. As you move into West Hollywood on Melrose, the fashion sense gets a bit more elevated, as do the prices, at stores like Fred Segal and Betsey Johnson.

This huge outdoor mall opened in 2002. A trolley runs through the main walkway, and the area is full of both high-end chain stores and unique boutiques. In addition, there's a first-rate movie theater here, and it's literally a one-minute walk to the venerable Farmers Market. With all that the Grove has to offer, it's sure to give even the most addicted shopaholics the fix they need.

This three block stretch of road is closed to car traffic, and open to just about anything else. The tile covered streets are watched over by topiary dinosaur fountains (why not?) and street performers are everywhere. But the main attractions here are the shopping, restaurants and theaters, anchored by the Santa Monica Place mall at the end of the Promenade. Who says nobody walks in LA?

A bit south of UCLA and Westwood is the Westside Pavilion, the best shopping on this side of town. Over 160 stores and restaurants fill this mall located in the heart of LA’s upscale Westside community, where some of the city’s most expensive real estate can be found and designer handbags are more common than pointed ears at a Star Trek Convention.
