Website
Just South of L.A. County is Orange County, and the O.C. has just as much to offer as its northern neighbor. Its most popular attraction is of course the theme park that started it all, Disneyland, and its new sister park Disney’s California Adventure both in the city of Anaheim. Just ten minutes away is Buena Park, where the exciting attractions include Knott’s Southern California Resort.

While the city of Long Beach has a rich sense of history, it is a community with its eyes on the future. With a population of nearly half a million, Long Beach is the fifth largest city in California and is the economic and cultural center of Southern California’s South Bay area. Numerous attractions await those who make the twenty-five mile trip from downtown Los Angeles, including the Queen Mary Ocean Liner and the Aquarium of the Pacific. In addition, the Long Beach Convention Center is one of the most popular locations for event planners in the entire country.
Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority
Website
While LA’s massive size makes renting a car a better bet for visitors, those who would prefer not to drive in the city have several choices for getting around town. Running throughout Los Angeles are many bus lines, which can reach most attractions in less than an hour. In addition, the MTA operates the new (but rather limited) train and subway system, which for the most part is clean and convenient.
