Starbuck’s (Original Location)
1912 Pike Place
Seattle, WA 98101

Believe it or not, there was once a time in our nation’s history when the phrase “I’ll meet you at Starbuck's” needed no further explanation. That place was here in Seattle, at the the Pike Place Market, where the world’s most ubiquitous coffee’s been brewing since the first store moved here in 1976. And even today, folks line up just to get a taste of that coffee that’s only available in a mere 15,000 other places around the world. Especially interesting is that this Starbuck's has retained its slightly racier logo from its early days, so you can get a look at the Starbuck's mermaid before the corporate focus groups got ahold of her.

Duke's Chowder House, with its flagship location on Alki Point, is a Seattle Institution. The food, staff and and atmosphere at Dukes with spectacular view from upper deck is excellent and always a most pleasant dining experience. The Fisherman's Delight dinner entree of cod with very flavorful but not too heavy mushroom sauce with side of asparagus and fingerling potatoes when prepared less as a stew and more as separate items on a platter is a favorite for regulars. Duke's lobster pernod and special Bloody Mary cocktail with chilled prawns are unique treats as well, and the wider selection and availability of sauvignon blanc wine offerings is always appreciated.
