Perched up on the hillside in West Vancouver, the view from The Salmon House is undeniably spectacular. With the introduction of 'Uniquely BC', the folks at the Salmon House have created a three-course dinner menu using ingredients sourced from BC producers and growers. This menu showcases the natural abundance of British Columbia while providing guests with a true West Coast dining experience. It's a good meal and a great view, and the perfect way to watch the sun set in Vancouver.

Urban Spoon

Website
Urban Spoon's Vancouver Page is pretty complete, with hundreds of listing and reviews. They include neighborhood listings and "Top Ten" lists. Not a bad overview of the Vancouver food scene. They also have a Victoria page for those headed in that direction.

Vancouver & Victoria Nightclub Guides
Web Resource
Website
Online nightclub guides are always a hit and miss affair, but for those travellers wanting to use every bit of their day, this one does a prettty good job of giving you the lay of the land. One club in particular that we might recommend is the Yale Hotel, which has been serving up some Vancouver's hottest live music for years.

Canada Place is Vancouver’s showpiece convention center complex.  Like Science World before, this architectural gem is a remnant of the 1986 World Expo, when it served as the pavilion for Canada.  It was constructed to resemble a huge sailing ship, and its five white sails have become an iconic part of the Vancouver skyline.  In addition to its convention center facilities, Canada place is home to numerous restaurants like the elegant Five Sails and hotels like the the Pan Pacific, and is the cruise ship terminal for Vancouver. Nearby are the neighborhoods of Gastown, Robson Street and Chinatown, each of which have finds of their own, like the Salt Tasting Room, a fun cheese and sauce place located on the gruesomely named "Blood Alley" in Gastown.

The Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria has become sort of a holy shrine for tea drinkers. They start seating folks for afternoon tea early, and if you’re hoping to just wander in and get a seat, you’ll likely be disappointed.  This is one place where reservations are really needed.

Kitsilano Dining

There are a bunch of nice spots to grab a bite in Kitsilano. Among the pricier choices are the excellent sushi shop Tojo's and the "modern Canadian" cuisine available at Bishop's and West. Or you might want to try the funky Gastropod, where the chef is a fan of the trendy sous vide method of preparing meats. A lower priced favorite in this area is Go Fish, with its limited but delicious seafood menu.
